SEPTEMBER MEDITATION PROGRAM

THEME: CREATING HARMONY

For September, the theme of the meditations focuses on creating harmony.  The meditations can be done in whichever order you wish. Select the one you are drawn to at any given time; repeat any of them as often as you like.  However, you are encouraged to try all of them since together they form a cohesive framework for movement towards greater harmony and balance.

Harmony and balance are the foundation for optimal functioning of ourselves and our world as we journey through this existence.  When mind, body and spirit are in alignment, working together towards the same end, then can you successfully manifest the reality that is for your highest and best good and you also become more effective at serving the greater good within your community and globally.

With inner harmony and balance comes the blessing of experiencing the soaring self!  May your harmony inspire you to great heights of bliss!

Reflections on Harmony

Each has the potential to be a bridge to harmony.  When looked at from higher ground you can see there are activities throughout the world and in your own lives that are aimed at achieving harmony.  As these grow, so do they gain in strength.  Let harmony find its way into your heart and let it then radiate outwards from you to your surroundings.  In this way you become that bridge to harmony!

Together yet individual; all is one yet divisible.  Connected at the Source, yet individually we are each on our distinct path of experiences and learning.  There lies the paradox of the duality of existence – separate yet one all at the same time.  Cultivate the spirit of togetherness while remaining true to your own path and purpose.

Nature is nourishment to the mind, body and spirit!  Nature and humans stand together in the circle of existence.   Notions of dominion and domination of Nature by human entities are false precepts that have created much harm.  The time has come to cultivate the balanced view on the inter-connection and co-operative interplay that needs to be the modus operandi for renewal and healing to take place between humankind and the natural environment.

Only through conscious intentions is movement assured.

Practice stillness and silence on a daily basis for even a few minutes in order to build inner harmony.

Meditations

Out with Fear in with Light!

We all have fears of one sort or another. Some are obvious, others lie more subtly hidden from direct view, existing nevertheless whether semi-consciously or subconsciously.  The fact that these fears are not in plain view does not make them any less potent in our lives. On the contrary, they keep us off balance, controlling our attitudes and behaviours.  During the meditation seek guidance on becoming aware of an area of fear that is constraining you and on releasing it.  Bring the fear into your conscious awareness, experience how it makes you feel, how it impacts your life. Now picture yourself shedding that fear and imagine how you would be without that fear.  When you have summoned up a mental image of yourself unconstrained by your fear, put forth the intention to become the unencumbered you.  As you go through your daily life, become more observant of your behaviour and thoughts and when you find yourself slipping into the grip of your fear, remember the image of yourself without that fear that you saw during your meditation. Let that image guide you whenever you need reinforcement.

Strengthening Your Harmony Muscle

Consciously inviting harmony and balance into your life will result in the transformative movement you seek.  During the meditation repeat to yourself, “seeking harmony between my mind, body and spirit”.

Attuning to Nature

When we care about someone we take the time to get to know them and we are willing to help them with their needs.  Similar attention is needed in our relationship with Nature.  By becoming more in touch with the needs of Nature we can shift our interaction with the natural environment bringing about greater harmony between our needs and those of Nature.  During the meditation connect with any form of Nature (e.g. birds, trees, ocean, mountain, animal) and allow yourself to be as one with the form you have chosen and seek to understand what would assist and support that part of the natural world.

We are One!

One of the biggest challenges we face is fully understanding and living the concept that all is one.  Differences in culture, religion, race, geography and so forth are illusionary, artificial divisions for ultimately we are all part of the same whole.  The separations and divisions are created by our minds.  During the meditation put forth intentions towards individual and collective awakening to our oneness and for societies to respond to each other from a place of greater awareness of our oneness.
