FEBRUARY MEDITATION PROGRAM

THEME: LOVE IS THE GREATEST POWER

With St. Valentine’s Day being in February, this month’s meditations are about breaking down defences and breaking down our resistance to love – both the giving and receiving of it in all facets and experiences of our life.  Mastering love is about being able to demonstrate love not just when it comes naturally but also with people and situations that we find difficult to accept.  That’s when love is put to a higher test.

The meditations can be done in whichever order you wish. Select the one you are drawn to at any given time; repeat any of them as often as you like.  However, you are encouraged to try all of them since together they form a cohesive framework for healing the heart.

Reflections on The Power of Love

The confrontational approach seems to engage the minds and behaviours of many as the first and best response to conflict and differences in opinion.  Confrontation is perceived in many cases as an energizing or invigorating approach when in reality it depletes and diminishes the human spirit.  Yet, the aggressive way is difficult to let go of when the benefits of loving kindness are not understood as the more potent and productive way.

All must be approached with love in order for us to experience real balance and harmony of mind, body and spirit.  Love yields results the likes of which aggression can never achieve.  Rather like the difference between winning the battle versus the war.  Thus aggression gives the illusion of success in the short-run while in the long-run it sets in motion a cycle of further hardships.

The ripple effect of love is much sweeter than that of conflict!

Meditations

Tuning into the Power of Love

During the meditation, contemplate love as the great diffuser of tensions and aggressions.  Focus on the power of love to heal all.  Start the meditation by contemplating and envisaging the power of love as a diffuser of tensions and a healer of all.  Try not to hook into a specific situation/person in your life. Just allow for general guidance and insight on love to enter into your awareness.

Opening the Heart to Receiving and Giving Love

During the meditation focus on aligning and anchoring your heart to Love in order to receive love and fill yourself up with love.  Once you have anchored yourself to love, gently move into directing loving energy towards someone or some situation that you feel challenged to love and accept at this time.

Give yourself a Valentine’s Loving Affirmation

When we love and honour ourselves then do we find true and lasting happiness, contentment and inner-peace.  During the meditation develop a loving affirmation to help remind you of your inner splendor. When you do this meditation, sit with a pen and paper/journal to write the self-affirmation that comes to you.  Remember to repeat the loving self-affirmation to yourself daily!

Global Healing

Focus on sending energy of Love to ease the harshness of experiences that are the result of uprisings, oppression in various parts of the world and stress that the natural environment is facing.
